Behlmann Buick GMC is owned by partners Dan Behlmann and Doug Kohnen, both with long histories in the automotive business.
Dan Behlmann formerly owned Behlmann Buick GMC in Hazelwood, MO, his family's business opened in 1972. Dan worked in every facet of the business until eventually purchasing the dealership from his father, Ken Behlmann, in 2003. His focus then, as it is now, has always been on customer satisfaction. "We made a name for always being the biggest, with the largest inventory, selling more cars, trucks, SUVs, and conversion vans than anyone else," he says. "But the backbone behind that success was treating customers the right way. We want every customer to leave 100% satisfied with the price they pay, the vehicle they choose, and the way they are treated throughout the entire process."
Doug Kohnen has been in the car business since 1989, starting in sales and eventually becoming General Manager and part owner of Paducah Ford in Paducah, Kentucky. After moving to St. Louis, Doug served as the General Manager at the Behlmann dealership in Hazelwood for 7 years, and after that, at Pundmann Ford in St. Charles for 6 years. He and Dan have the same, customer-first approach and the two make a great team. "It sounds like a simple thing, but a lot of dealerships can get side-tracked from treating customers the right way by emphasizing volume. That won't happen here. Dan and I are committed to making our store the top-ranked GM dealership for customer service in the entire state," he says.
Both men are excited to be a part of the Lincoln County area. "This is a great area," says Doug. "Dan and I look forward to being here for a long time, getting involved in the community, and building long-lasting relationships with our customers."
